Resist Ukrainian Anti Imperial Stout – U.S. Open Beer Championship Category

Resist Ukrainian Anti Imperial Stout
The U.S. Open Beer Championship is adding Resist Ukrainian Anti Imperial Stout as an official category of the 2022 U.S. Open Beer Championship.   All entry fees will be donated to the Red Cross relief efforts in Ukraine, The U.S. Open will match the first 12 entries.

The recipe for RESIST – Ukrainian Anti-Imperial Stout is a recipe designed by brewers from the Ukraine to show solidarity with brewers and the beer community in Ukraine, with a special Borshch-inspired taste of the Ukraine:

The RESIST recipe is not prescriptive – brewers can adapt it to their needs and have creative license with the label design. All the Ukrainian brewers want is for you to brew it.

From the Brewers in Ukraine
Brewers in Ukraine have seen their livelihoods wiped out and, in some instances, their businesses destroyed by Russian attacks.

To show solidarity with them, we are inviting breweries around the world to brew the Ukrainian Anti-Imperial Stout RESIST, developed by displaced Ukrainian brewers. Once brewed, we’re asking brewers to donate the sales proceeds of RESIST to the Red Cross humanitarian relief effort – as much (or as little) as you can afford.

For breweries (and homebrewers) who want to join in, it’s simple:
Download the beer recipe
Read the explainer
Brew the beer (and let us know you’re doing it!)
Donate the proceeds
We’re not being prescriptive when it comes to the beer’s packaging and label design, all we’re asking is that brewers use the name and Ukraine’s national colors. For the rest, use your creativity.
